En tanto, los costos laborales se incrementaron junto con los impuestos provinciales (la actividad tributa un 4% de ingresos brutos en contraste con la industria que tributa el 1.5%),s umado a que estos tributos se pagan también sobre las comisiones que cobran las OTAs (sitios de reserva online como Booking.com o Despegar).
En este contexto, reducir los costos energéticos y el desperdicio de materiales mediante acciones de sustentabilidad se convierte en una estrategia de supervivencia y diferenciación frente a viajeros que buscan cada vez más reducir su impacto ambiental y valoran el cuidado de la naturaleza y los recursos.
En este sentido la AHT implementó el programa de certificación para alojamientos turísticos Hoteles Más Verdes, que hoy cuenta con 176 alojamientos certificados en más de 60 destinos del país. A partir de mejorar su eficiencia energética, acciones de economía circular y de inclusión laboral, los hoteles logran diferenciarse aún en un contexto de crisis económica como el actual.
